Mission
The MAUV is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting seniors, caregivers, and professionals who work with older adults in Laval. Our mission is to inform, raise awareness, guide, and accompany those who need it most.
Through the Laval 50+ Fair, MAUV brings together valuable resources for seniors, making it easier for them to access services and information in Laval and the surrounding areas.
The goal of this event is to equip seniors and caregivers with practical tools to better understand and navigate the many aspects of aging. To achieve this, the Fair unites exhibitors from private, public, and community organizations.
MAUV is also strongly committed to promoting active aging, breaking down age-related stereotypes, and offering opportunities for learning and education to seniors, caregivers, and professionals alike.
Our beginning...
Activating a Mechanism
Following the 15th anniversary of the International Day of Awareness of Elder Abuse on June 15, 2020 and during the COVID-19 pandemic, members of society from Laval met to discuss the issue of offer of services to vulnerable users.
The reflection mainly focused, not on the service offer since several community, private and government organizations are already prosperous in this phase, but rather on homogeneity and easy and quick accessibility for a user in a vulnerable situation.
These members did not suspect at the time that they had just installed the first gears of a #Mécanismesocial!

In 2020, there were
3,495,180
people aged 50 and over living in Quebec.
Among them

Our main clientele: seniors. Who are they?
They embody wisdom, wit, and often serenity much like the color purple.
Unfortunately, loneliness, melancholy, and sadness are too often part of their daily lives.
In psychology, the color purple represents the need for advice, protection, guidance, purpose, meaning, integrity, and honesty.
That’s why it’s the perfect symbol for the Mécanisme d’Assistance pour Usagers Vulnérables!
